Edin Terzic is likely to receive a contract extension at Borussia Dortmund

kicker reports that talks over a new contract for Edin Terzic at Borussia Dortmund are set to begin soon after he lead them to the Champions League final.

Giving Terzic a new contract is considered a formality and the club are impressed with how he represents the club. Such as he confidence when speaking English as well as his stress-resistant and solution-orientated apporaoch.

However, Funke Sport reports that any talks realted to a new contract will wait until later on in the year as after Dortmund’s heartbreaking loss in the Champions League final, the club wants to see Terzic turn the team around and see improvements in their league performance next season.

Since Terzic took over permanently and replaced Marco Rose in 2022, Dortmund have finished second in the league, but threw away the title on the final day, lost the Champions League final after being the better team for the majority of the game whilst also finishing fifth in the league.

An arguement could be made that after these set backs, it maybe time to move on from Terzic, especially if Dortmund have a poor start to next season as they struggle with a mental hangover of the loss in London, similary to this season.
