Could Omar Marmoush succeed Harry Kane at Bayern Munich?

Harry Kane (31) has registered 81 goal contributions (61 goals and 20 assists) in 59 games for Bayern Munich since his move in 2023 but with a contract until 2027, the Rekordmeister’s recruitment team are already searching for the Englishman’s eventual successor.

According to Sport Bild, one of those players is Omar Marmoush (25). The Egyptian scored a brace against Bayern Munich earlier in the season and already has 21 goal contributions (12 goals and nine assists) in 14 games for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. But the Bundesliga giants face competition from Liverpool to sign Marmoush, who is open to taking the next step in his career in the summer.

Per the report, Marmoush would cost between €40m and €50m which is a staggering return on investment for Eintracht who signed the 25-year-old on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in the 2023.

Benjamin Šeško and Loïs Openda among other targets

But should they miss out on Marmoush, Bayern Munich continue to monitor other targets. As reported by Tobias Altschäffl, Benjamin Šeško was on the club’s shortlist when he was at RB Salzburg before the player’s move to Leipzig, while Max Eberl – now at Bayern Munich – was responsible for bringing the Loïs Openda to Germany.

With Mathys Tel on Bayern Munich’s books, many question why the club are scouring the market for a successor to Kane when they already have one at the club. Well, per Altschäffl, the development of the Frenchman has stalled – he’s played 224 minutes across all competitions under Vincent Kompany this season, and is yet to register a goal contribution. The 19-year-old is a candidate to leave the club on loan in January, which ultimately leaves the club short in central areas.
