Kingsley Coman fires warning to Bayer Leverkusen

Kingsley Coman has fired a warning towards Bayer Leverkusen with Bayern Munich just four points behind the Bundesliga leaders at the half-way stage of the season as the two teams battle it out for the Meisterschale.

Speaking via the club’s website, Coman said: “We’re still a few points behind Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

“We want to win every game, then we don’t need to look at the other teams. In the Champions League, we want to go as far as possible. We’ve got Lazio in the last 16, need to take things one step at a time.”

Although four points behind unbeaten Leverkusen, Bayern Munich do have a game in hand due to their postponed fixture against Union Berlin after that game was called off due to snow.

Bayern Munich have won their last three games across all competitions and resume their Bundesliga season against Hoffenheim on January 12 before a trip to Werder Bremen. Drawn against Lazio in the last 16, Thomas Tuchel’s side also have an excellent opportunity to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals.

A busy period for Bayern Munich in the transfer window

Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have reached a verbal agreement regarding a winter transfer of Eric Dier (29) as the Bundesliga side look to strengthen their defensive options. This comes after the Rekordmeister seemingly decided against a move for Fulham’s João Palhinha, despite actively pursuing the Portuguese midfielder last summer.

According to Christian Falk, Bayern have also shown an interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, who has a release clause in his contract that becomes active in the summer. The reigning champions also remain hopeful of extending the contract of Alexander Nübel, before allowing the goalkeeper to spend another season on loan at Stuttgart.
