Bayern Munich take serious steps towards the signing of Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes

As reported by Portuguese news outlet O Jogo, Bayern Munich have taken serious steps towards the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United.

It is understood that Der Rekordmeister have already begun talks with Miguel Pinho, Fernandes’ agent, regarding a possible move. However, Barcelona are also said to be interested in the Portuguese midfielder, offering competition for the record champions.

Nevertheless, despite clear interest in the 29-year-old from Bayern, there are conflicting reports relating to how advanced talks are between the pair.

As reported by Bild, Fernandes is no longer considered a crucial signing for Bayern this summer. It is understood that Thomas Tuchel was pushing for his signature, but with Vincent Kompany now in charge, the former Sporting CP midfielder is not as sought-after.

With 15 goals and 13 assists from midfield last season, it is clear why the Bavarian giants are considering a potential move for Fernandes. However, with EURO 2024 less than two weeks away, it is expected that any potential move will be put on hold until after the tournament.
