Bayern Munich add RC Lens’ Kevin Danso to their centre-back shortlist

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich have added RC Lens centre-back Kevin Danso to their January shortlist.

As previously understood, Der Rekordmeister are on the hunt for defensive reinforcement during the winter window, with Radu Drăgușin at the top of their wishlist. However, the 21-year-old looks close to agreeing a deal with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

This means that Bayern have had to turn their attention to other candidates. Danso was originally a target for the record champions in the summer, but the Austrian international agreed to a new deal with Lens, leaving Bayern having to look elsewhere.

Regardless, the former Augsburg and Fortuna Düsseldorf defender has continued to impress this season with 22 appearances in all competitions for the French outfit. As well as this, the 25-year-old has been able to step up to the plate in the Champions League, displaying his quality in Europe’s biggest competition.

Therefore, with Drăgușin closing in on a move to the Premier League, Bayern could view Danso as their next best option. Nevertheless, they have not ruled out possible moves for Eric Dier and Nordi Mukiele, who are also on Der Rekordmeister’s list of options.
