Alphonso Davies is Real Madrid’s desired left-back target as contract talks with Bayern Munich stall

Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is the desired target of Real Madrid to fill the position in their squad.

It is reported that Madrid have asked Davies not to extend his contract at Bayern, which expires in 2025. Meanwhile, Bayern have been attempting to extend the contract of Davies but they have stalled.

This opens the possibility that Davies could leave Bayern in the summer if Madrid continues to push for the 23-year-old as the Spanish side are ready to make an offer for the left-back in the summer.

For Bayern, if they try and hold onto Davies for longer they could risk losing him on a free transfer the summer afterwards. The Canadian is comfortable at Bayern and a sale could likely be made if an extension is unable to be reached in the summer.

Davies joined Bayern in 2018 from Vancouver Whitecaps and during his time in Bavaria has not only developed into a left-back at the club but is one of the best left-backs in the world on his day.
