A stat in which Youssoufa Moukoko is better than Harry Kane

Harry Kane’s first season in the Bundesliga has been nothing short of remarkable thus far. With 26 goals and eight assists in 24 appearances for Der Rekordmeister, the Englishman has more than justified his hefty price tag.

However, while his output has been astonishing—even good enough to make Robert Lewandowski blush—there is a stat in which Kane does not come out on top. Instead, it is Borussia Dortmund youngster Youssoufa Moukoko who can boast a better record than the former Tottenham striker.

For Kane, 22 of his 26 strikes have come in the Bundesliga, from a total of 1,502 minutes, meaning that he is currently averaging a goal every 68 minutes. Whereas, for Moukoko, despite only earning 168 minutes of action, he has been able to find the back of the net on three occasions.

This has seen the 19-year-old average a goal every 56 minutes for Die Schwarzgelben this season, a better return than anybody else in Germany’s top flight. Nevertheless, this is a statistic that must be taken with a pinch of salt.

Due to Moukoko often coming off the bench, he is able to use his blistering pace and intelligence in and around the penalty area against significantly tired defenders. Whereas, Kane has been able to maintain a phenomenal goal-scoring ratio despite having to often play a full 90 minutes for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Regardless, this is something that should not go against Moukoko, who, as previously suggested by Get German Football News, should be rewarded with an increase in game time. The Dortmund striker has been a joy to watch during his fleeting appearances, and with Dortmund requiring further inspiration in the attacking third, he certainly could be the answer to Edin Terzić’s problems.
