VfB Stuttgart and Freiburg close to agreeing a deal for Woo-Yeong Jeong

According to Kicker, VfB Stuttgart and Freiburg are closing in on agreeing a deal for winger Woo-Yeong Jeong.

Stuttgart have been pushing to sign the Korean for around two weeks, but they were not close to the valuation that Freiburg has for the 23-year-old. Stuttgart are interested in paying around €2m for Jeong, while Freiburg value him closer to €4m.

It is reported that the clubs are now close to an agreement regarding the valuation of Jeong and the deal could be completed in the coming days.

Jeong’s draw to Stuttgart is that he played under boss Sebastian Hoeneß when both were at the Bayern Munich Academy. Jeong moved from the Bayern academy to Freiburg in 2019.

The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour at Freiburg this season. In total, Jeong played 34 times for Freiburg but only started nine games as the club finished fifth in the league and reached the DFB-Pokal final.
