Tensions behind the scenes at Borussia Dortmund

According to Sport1tensions have arisen behind the scenes at Borussia Dortmund after the club’s underwhelming start to the season.

Despite Dortmund currently unbeaten, the fans have begun to turn against the team after their 2-2 draw against Heidenheim. After the draw, the team were booed off of the pitch and began to voice their anger against the team, the manager as well as the directors.

On the pitch, Dortmund have looked unfit at times and struggled in the latter stages of the game against Heidenheim. While manager Edin Terzic has currently failed to establish a playing identity within the team this season and his tactical choices in players has so far not paid off.

Off the pitch, tensions have risen behind the scenes at Dortmund. It is reported that Terzic, Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke are not on the same page when it comes to club matters.

This was prevalent in the summer when Kehl pursued the signing of Edson Álvarez and had even reached a personal agreement with the midfielder, only for Terzic to veto the transfer and opt for Emre Can instead. The disagreements in squad planning have become more prevalent at the start of the season as Dortmund have not brought in the required quality to replace Jude Bellingham, while other weak areas have not been addressed despite the €103m received for the Englishman.
