Real Madrid hope to sign Alphonso Davies for €40-50m

Sport Bild reports that Real Madrid will try and sign Alphonso Davies next summer for around €40m as contract extension talks with the left-back have been put on hold at Bayern Munich.

Before Hasan Salihamidžić’s departure at Bayern, Davies was about to engage in negotiations over a contract extension to his current deal that expires in 2025, but those talks have now been put on hold and currently do not look like they will be resumed soon.

Bayern do not want to lose Davies but if they continue to put negotiations on hold, the negotiating position of the 22-year-old becomes a lot stronger.

Real are big fans of Davies and see him as the perfect candidate for the left-back position at the club ahead of Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy. However, Real knows that it will not be easy to bring Davies to the club and has set a price range they are willing to go.

Real would like to sign Davies for around €40-50m next summer, with €50m being their threshold that they are unwilling to go over. This is a similar approach to what they took with Jude Bellingham in the summer where they did not want to pay over €100m and ended up paying a basic fee of €103m.
