Real Madrid hold initial contact with Karim Adeyemi’s management

After the signing of Jude Bellingham for an initial €103m, Bild are reporting that Real Madrid have made initial contact with the management of Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi (20).

Even with Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, Real Madrid want to add further speed in their attack. Last season, Adeyemi set a new speed record in the Bundesliga of 36.7km/h. The German attacker has also improved of late.

Adeyemi failed to score a Bundesliga goal in 2022 and was being criticised for his performances following his €30m move from RB Salzburg. But an upturn in form in 2023 saw Adeyemi score seven goals and create four across nine games in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Alongside Donyell Malen and Sébastien Haller, Adeyemi’s improved form played a role in Borussia Dortmund’s title challenge, which saw the race for the Meisterschale go down to the final day.

Adeyemi’s valuation a stumbling block for Real Madrid?

With a contract until 2027 and no exit clause, Borussia Dortmund are free to demand a fee of their choosing. Adeyemi is a player that BVB want to build the team around and it would take an offer of at least €80m to prize the Germany international away from the Westfalenstadion.

After losing Bellingham, it’s unlikely that Dortmund would want to lose another asset.
