Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs Manchester City

Bayern Munich need a miracle against Manchester City on Wednesday night if they are to secure a place in the Champions League semi-final. Kick-off at the Allianz Arena is 21:00 CET.

One player that will be available for Bayern Munich is Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The Cameroonian forward returned to training on Monday and has been an integral player for the Rekordmeister following the departure of Robert Lewandowski. Choupo-Moting has 21 goal contributions (17 goals, 4 assists) in 28 games across all competitions this season and against Manchester City last week, Bayern’s lack of a No. 9 was evident in the absence of Choupo-Moting.

Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies both trained indoors on Monday but it was nothing more than workload management, both are therefore expected to start against Manchester City. Benjamin Pavard and Matthijs de Ligt, who both started in the reverse fixture, are expected to retain their places.

With the return of Choupo-Moting, Serge Gnabry is expected to only have a place on the bench whilst Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman will line up against the Cameroonian.

If Bayern Munich are to make further changes, Thomas Müller may come in for Musiala whilst João Cancelo, against his former club, could start ahead of Davies as he did against Hoffenheim.

Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs Manchester City

Yann Sommer – Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt, Alphonso Davies – Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich – Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané – Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
