After a run of two draws Bayer Leverkusen looked to end it with a win to potentially extend their lead on second place in the Bundesliga and they did with a 

The first half was rather uneventful with Frankfurt dominating the early stages before Leverkusen gained control. They would be rewarded in the 14th minute when Victor Boniface opened the scoring. 

Leverkusen would grow into the second half and take control of the game. Jeremie Frimpong would double their lead when he latched onto a Boniface shot that had been parried. Florian Wirtz would then score a third for Leverkusen in the 57th minute. Frankfurt never really caused any issue for Leverkusen throughout the game as they cruised to a win. 

The win means Leverkusen will end the Hinrunde in first place.

Jeremie Frimpong – 7 – Caused issue throughout the evening on Leverkusen’s right-hand side, his gaol continues to show how important he is when Leverkusen attacks.

Florian Wirtz – 8 – Ran the game for Leverkusen, he is slowly forming a strong partnership with Boniface in the attack and when the Nigerian departs for the Africa Cup of Nations in the new year, Wirtz will need to take an even greater load in Leverkusen’s attack. 

It goes to show the quality that Wirtz possesses as just over a year ago he had returned from his ACL injury and now he is a key piece in a title charge. 

Victor Boniface – 7 – After a shaky run of form, Boniface is slowly finding his feet again in the Leverkusen attack and will be a big miss when he travels to AFCON in January.
