Official | Eintracht Frankfurt sign Swedish talent Hugo Larsson

Eintracht Frankfurt have today announced the signing of Hugo Larsson on a five-year contract until 2028 for a reported €7.5m.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who can play in defensive or central-midfield, joins the club from Malmö FF and comes to the club already with European experience, having played in this season’s Europa League, and has also represented Sweden.

“Hugo Larsson is a young and already established midfielder with enormous potential, and who will strengthen our squad,” said sporting director Markus Krösche.

“Despite his tender age, Hugo is already a regular starter for the current Swedish cup holders, which gives you an indication not only of his talent but also his character. We’ll build him up and help him to take his next steps. We’re convinced that he will provide us with lots of excitement in the future.”

Since making his debut for Malmö last year, Larsson played 59 games across all competitions for the Swedish club, and is regarding as one of Europe’s hottest talents.

Larsson becomes Eintracht Frankfurt’s third signing of the summer with Willian Pacho and Omar Marmoush joining the club this season. But there are expected to be plenty outgoings with Eintracht undergoing somewhat of a rebuild this summer with Daichi Kamada leaving when his contract expires in June, while Djibril Sow is also being courted by several European clubs.
