Official | Borussia Mönchengladbach extend Rocco Reitz contract until 2026

Borussia Mönchengladbach have extended the contract of Rocco Reitz until 30 June 2026 after his previous contract was set to expire in 2024.

Reitz is a homegrown talent who joined when he was seven-years-old and has passed through the club’s academy system until he eventually made his first team debut in the 2020/21 season.

The 21-year-old has since spent a season on loan at Sint-Truidense VV during the 2021/22 season and then returned to the Belgian side for a short-term loan during the 2022/23 season. He has now featured in every Bundesliga match for Borussia Mönchengladbach so far this campaign.

“Rocco has really earned this considering his development in the last few months,” said Borussia managing director of sport, Roland Virkus.

“He is a very ambitious player with a top mentality, who has also made an important step in footballing terms.

“And last but not least, I’m really happy that he’s a local boy who came to Borussia at the age of seven.”

Reitz returned from his loan spells and impressed during pre-season, earning him recent starts in league matches against Bayern Munich and Darmstadt whilst also making substitute appearances against Augsburg and Leverkusen.

“I’m very happy to have extended my contract,” said Reitz. “I have spent more than half of my life here and the club has been a second home for a long time. It makes me proud that I can live my dreams here and I’m thankful for that.”
