Sky Germany reports that former RB Leipzig director Max Eberl is waiting for Bayern Munich to offer him a role despite links to Liverpool.
Bayern’s ‘Godfather; Uli Hoeneß is doing everything he can to get Bayern to hire Eberl and fill up the remaining space on the advisory board. Eberl wants to take over the vacant role but no concrete negotiations between the two have taken place yet.
If negotiations between Eberl and Bayern do begin then the likely scenario is that an agreement will be reached and Eberl will rejoin the club that he played youth football for.
Liverpool have previously been linked to Eberl but at the moment he is not a topic at the Premier League side. However, with Liverpool’s current sporting director Jörg Schamdtke’s contract expiring in January, there is a possibility that Eberl would be a candidate to replace his compatriot as it is likely Eberl will not wait for months for Bayern.
The Premier League side had shown interest in bringing Eberl to the club back in 2020 after he left Borussia Mönchengladbach, but he had already given his word to Leipzig by then.
