Marcus Thuram set for Inter medical

Marcus Thuram is nearing a move to Inter with the French attacker expected to undergo a medical this week before signing a five-year deal until 2028, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Up until the 11th hour, it looked as though Thuram would be joining city-rivals Milan, but Inter have hijacked the deal. The Nerazzurri are offering Thuram a reported €5.5m per season, less than what Milan have offered the Frenchman. Thuram also rejected an approach from PSG while RB Leipzig didn’t advance on their initial interest, which now puts Inter in pole position.

Thuram will be leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer after deciding against a contract extension. The Frenchman enjoyed an excellent campaign with 23 goal contributions (16 goals, 7 assists) in 32 games across all competitions for Die Fohlen in 2022/23.

During his four years in Germany, Thuram has scored 44 and created 29 in 134 games across all competitions for Gladbach following his €9m from Guingamp in 2019.
