Lucas Hernández puts Bayern Munich contract talks on hold amid interest from PSG

Bayern Munich centre-back Lucas Hernández has put any talks over a new contract at Bayern Munich on hold amid interest from PSG, reports Sport1

The Parisian club have reportedly held an interest in Hernández for a while and have recently begun to step up their pursuit of the 27-year-old. In addition to PSG, two unnamed Spanish and English clubs have also shown interest in Hernández.

Bayern had been pushing to extend Hernández’s contract with it being reported that only minor details needed to be completed but there has been a turnaround due to this interest. Manager Thomas Tuchel hopes that Hernández can stay at the club. Within the player’s entourage it is believed that if Bayern had offered the contract extension straight after the World Cup, it would have already been completed.

Bayern are still willing to extend Hernández’s contract with the same salary but PSG can offer a pay rise. If the 27-year-old pushes for a move, Bayern would have to sell as his contract expires in 2024. Currently, all options are on the table.

Hernández has only played 11 times for Bayern this season missing parts of the first half of the season due to torn muscles before tearing his cruciate ligament in France’s opening World Cup game in Qatar ending his season.
