Niko Kovac’s side are working on improving their squad ahead of the 2023/24 season and following the departure of Felix Nmecha to Borussia Dortmund for €30m, are scouring the market for a midfielder.
As reported via our colleagues at Get French Football News, Wolfsburg have even submitted an offer to Rennes for Croatian playmaker Majer (25), who is allowed to leave the Bretons this summer following the signing of Nantes’ versatile forward Ludovic Blas (25) while Enzo Le Fée (23) is expected to follow.
When it comes to arrivals at Wolfsburg, they’ve already tied up deals for Václav Černý and Tiago Tomas who joined for a combined €16m, while defensively both Mortiz Jens and Cédric Zesiger join the club for €13m.
With Nmecha gone, it leaves Kovac with Mattias Svanberg and Max Arnold in midfield with Burnley actively pursuing Aster Vranckx, and the Premier League club going as far as submitting an opening offer of €12m.
