Liverpool remain optimistic about signing Jude Bellingham

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool bosses remain optimistic when it comes to signing Borussia Dortmund and England starlet Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old has been heavily linked to a move away from the Bundesliga this summer, with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid all interested in the young midfielder.

As per the report, talks have indeed taken place between both representatives, although Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp has not spoken with Bellingham personally.

As things stand, there has been no official offer for the 19-year-old, but they would like to give him the possibility of becoming a modern-day Steven Gerrard at the club.

Dortmund want Bellingham to stay but a fee of around €150m could persuade the club otherwise. The club’s objective is to extend Bellingham’s contract and make him the club’s top earner. Before discussions can take place, BVB will need to know what Bellingham’s plans are. If he could imagine staying, an extension would be drawn up almost immediately.
