Karim Adeyemi a doubt for Borussia Dortmund ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Sky Germany reports that Karim Adeyemi is a doubt for Borussia Dortmund ahead of their top-of-the-table clash with Bayern Munich on Saturday.

As he works on his comeback from a tear to his muscle fibres, Adeyemi felt pain again during training and now will likely miss the game. Adeyemi had injured himself in Dortmund’s 4-1 win against Hertha Berlin where he scored and assisted before being subbed off in the 35th minute.

The injury came at the wrong time for Adeyemi as he had finally managed to find his form after moving from Red Bull Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Since the new year the 20-year-old had scored four times with his most memorable being in Dortmund’s 1-0 win against Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League tie.

It will mean the likes of Donyell Malen and Giovanni Reyna will have to step up in the biggest game of the season. Malen showed what he was capable of against 1.FC Köln in Dortmund’s 6-1 win before the international break, while after a brief upturn after the World Cup break, Reyna has been poor in his brief appearances.
