Julian Nagelsmann believes Kylian Mbappé could play against Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann believes that PSG’s Kylian Mbappé will play against them in their Champions League clash on February 14, despite being ruled out for three weeks.

“I don’t think he’s going to drop out,” said Nagelsmann. “It’s relatively vague on their homepage, saying that he would be out for up to three weeks. If there’s no structural injury, I can’t see him missing the game.”

Nagelsmann added: “I prepare myself normally, as if he was playing.”

Mbappé was injured after clashing with Montpellier’s Leo Leroy and was substituted on Wednesday evening after just 20 minutes. After PSG announced that Mbappé (24) is set to miss three weeks, our colleagues at Get French Football News reported that the severity of the injury has been ascertained.

However, although an estimated down time of three weeks, Nagelsmann believes that PSG are just playing mind games ahead of their Round of 16 clash in 11 days time.

Bayern Munich secured their place in the Champions League knockout stages with a 100% record in the group stages. In a group that contained Inter, Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen, Bayern secured a maximum 18 points, scoring 18 goals and conceded just two.
