Former Tottenham youth player on trial at Werder Bremen

After being released by Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Kallum Cesay is currently on trial with Werder Bremen. The 21-year-old left Tottenham after his contract expired and never managed to make an appearance for the senior team.

However he has now been given a big opportunity to get his career back on track as a contract could be offered to him within the next couple of weeks. Cesay has been on trial since the beginning of the international break.

Norwegian side Haugesund offered Cesay a trial earlier in the summer but he wasn’t able to secure himself a contract.

Werder Bremen’s director of football Clement Fritz told BILD that the club has been aware of his talent for a while and spoke with high praise of the young defender.

“We have known him for a long time. He was offered to us and the international break is now a good time for it. Kallum is a young player who enjoyed a very good education at Tottenham. He can be used flexibly and can play multiple positions,” said Fritz.

“The plan is initially for the player to train with us for the next few days. Then we’ll see how it goes. A decision is not yet in sight. It can go either way.”
