Fabrizio Romano reports that Eintracht Frankfurt have reignited their interest in Montpellier striker Elye Wahi and are pushing to sign the 20-year-old.
Frankfurt are proposing a long-term project to which the striker will be central. It has previously been reported that Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller has already spoken to the Wahi. With the future of Randal Kolo Muani in doubt, it is possible that Wahi is seen as the successor to his compatriot, who has attracted interest from a variety of clubs this summer.
The 20-year-old has also attracted interest from the Premier League with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both interested. Chelsea have already had a offer rejected for Wahi by Montpellier but the club will continue to push for the striker and then aim to send him on loan to Strasbourg.
Wahi experienced his breakout season at Montpellier last season playing 33 times for the team, scoring 19 and assisting six. The striker was also called up to France’s under-21 European Championship squad but only featured off of the bench.
