Sky Germany reports that Ajax midfielder Edson Álvarez is waiting for an approach from Borussia Dortmund as the door on a potential transfer has not closed.
Any potential pursuit of the 25-year-old will depend on the futures of Emre Can and Salih Özcan. Dortmund have not contacted Álvarez in the past few days. While they are also yet to make contact with Ajax over a potential transfer, and this was confirmed by Sebastian Kehl during a press conference earlier today: “There wasn’t a single round of talks with Ajax about Edson Alvarez.”
Bayern Munich have previously shown interest in the midfielder and are aware of his open future at Ajax. However, the Bundesliga champions are yet to make any approach or begin negotiations with Álvarez over a move.
Bayern have other targets such as Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, but the situation surrounding the England international is the same as with Álvarez.
