DFB begins investigation against Julian Nagelsmann

The DFB have announced that they are beginning an investigation against Julian Nagelsmann after comments he made in Bayern Munich’s 3-2 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Nagelsmann called referee Tobias Welz and his team a ‘soft-washed pack’ in regards to Dayot Upamecano’s sending off in the sixth minute for fouling Alassane Plea. Welz has said he had not heard any insults in his discussion with Nagelsmann after the game.

The Bayern coach will be asked to comment on the situation at the beginning of this week and the statement will be evaluated. Once this has been done, the committee will decide on any further action.

Bayern’s unbeaten run was ended by Gladbach thanks to goals from Lars Stindl, Jonas Hofmann and Marcus Thuram and means Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund can close the gap to Bayern on Sunday. Bayern’s next game will be against Union who will have likely passed them in the table by the time they meet next Sunday.
