Could Sergio Reguilón join Borussia Dortmund?

It’s no secret that Borussia Dortmund will look to strengthen at full-back during the January transfer window with Manchester United’s Sergio Reguilón (27), on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, an option for Die Schwarzgelben.

Sebastian Kehl is in the market for a full-back with Julian Ryerson sidelined with a knee injury, while Ramy Bensebaini will be absent from mid-January as he will represent Algeria at the African Cup of Nations.

How feasible is it that Sergio Reguilón will join Borussia Dortmund?

As reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, it’s unclear as to when Ryerson will return while Bensebaini is expected to miss around four games. Only Hendry Blank and Guille Bueno from the U23 squad are considered left-backs while Tom Rothe is currently on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel.

Because BVB don’t want to hampen the development of Rothe, a loan for Reguilón would be the more conceivable option. Per the report, the Spaniard can end his loan at Manchester United on his own terms, which would allow the former Real Madrid player to join Dortmund until the summer.

However, a deal is likely to be complicated because of the several parties involved. Because of this, Dortmund also have other targets in mind. But whether a transfer is successful depends on several factors.
