According to SportBild, Borussia Monchengladbach have received enquiries from Chelsea and PSG over a move for Manu Koné.
The 21-year-old dreams of a move to the Premier League and his agents have already met with Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus over a move in the summer. Gladbach have made it clear that Koné can leave in the summer if they receive an offer significantly above €25 million.
Koné’s current contract expires in 2025 with an option of an extra year. The 21-year-old joined Gladbach in 2021 from Toulouse in France for €9 million and during his time in the Bundesliga has developed into one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe.
The midfielder has played in all but two games this season which he missed through suspension and an injury in Gladbach’s very first game of the season against SV Oberachern in the DFB Pokal.
Any money earned from sales will likely go towards a rebuild for Gladbach with a host of players set to leave in the summer. Marcus Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini are certain to leave in the summer, while the futures of Lars Stindl and Nico Elvedi are unknown. Julian Weigl’s loan is set to expire and Gladbach are unable to afford him unless they sell Koné.
