Bundesliga Predictions | Round 7

In this weekly feature, hosts of the Gegenpressing podcast Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth face off with their predictions for the forthcoming Bundesliga matchday fixtures. It’s three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Manu’s Game of the Week: Borussia Dortmund vs Union Berlin

My match of the week is Dortmund against Union Berlin. This will be a big one for both sides. Dortmund want to remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga and Union need to stop what has been their biggest losing streak since being promoted to the first division. With that in mind, this game should provide some drama and although I think it will be close, Dortmund should eventually prevail.

Manu’s Predictions:

  • Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 Mainz
  • Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Union Berlin
  • RB Leipzig 3-0 Bochum
  • Augsburg 1-2 Darmstadt
  • Stuttgart 2-1 Wolfsburg
  • Werder Bremen 0-2 Hoffenheim
  • Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 FC Köln
  • Bayern Munich 2-1 Freiburg
  • Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Heidenheim

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Stuttgart vs Wolfsburg

My game of the week has to be Wolfsburg’s trip to Stuttgart. Both clubs have enjoyed impressive starts to the season and while I think Sebastian Hoeneß’s side may have the advantage in this clash due to the Wolves’ away record, it should prove to be a really fun, attacking clash between two excellent teams.

Stefan’s Predictions:

  • Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0 Mainz
  • Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Union Berlin
  • RB Leipzig 2-0 Bochum
  • Augsburg 1-1 Darmstadt
  • Stuttgart 3-2 Wolfsburg
  • Werder Bremen 0-2 Hoffenheim
  • Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 Köln
  • Bayern Munich 2-1 Freiburg
  • Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Heidenheim

Scores after MD6: Manu – 46, Stefan – 51
