Bundesliga Player of the Month nominees announced for November

The nominees for the Bundesliga player of the month award for November have been announced. 

Alejandro Grimaldo, Harry Kane, Leroy Sané, Jeremie Frimpong, Xavi Simons and Deniz Undav have all been nominated this month. 

The award is decided through a two-stage selection process that considers both the players’ individual performance data and a vote by fans and experts.

The award will be based on performances between matchday 10 and 12 of the season. 

Alejandro Grimaldo 

The Spanish left wing-back is putting a strong case forward for being the free signing of the season in Europe. He has scored four times in November and is level with Victor Boniface for the most goals for Leverkusen so far. He additionally contributed with an assist and was the only outfield player for Leverkusen to play every minute in the league this month. 

Harry Kane

Kane has continued his goal scoring spree in his first Bundesliga season by scoring a further six goals in November. He continues to lead the way as top goal scorer in the league with 18 goals, which is two more than Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy. His 18 goals in 12 matches has broken the record that Uwe Seeler had held for 60 years.

Leroy Sané

Leroy Sané is enjoying possibly his most successful season yet and has created a deadly partnership with himself and Harry Kane in Bayern Munich’s attack. He provided two assists in Bayern’s remarkable 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund and went on to be the Bundesliga’s highest assist maker in November with four assists, taking his tally up to six.

Jeremie Frimpong

Alejandro Grimaldo’s fellow wing-back partner has been replicating his form down the right hand side for Bayer Leverkusen by consistently providing an attacking threat. He scored in the 3-0 win away at Werder Bremen and has now had nine goal involvements this season. 

Xavi Simons

The young Dutchman is maturing every game with his performances and is now a key figure in the RB Leipzig team. He provided a goal and an assist for Leipzig this month, making him tied with Loïs Openda for most goal contributions in the team this season. In addition he is now the leading assist maker in the Bundesliga with seven. With four goals this season as well, the 20 year is certainly impressing. 

Deniz Undav

Serhou Guirassy has taken all the headlines for Stuttgart this season with 16 goals so far. Last month the striker missed two games and fans were concerned over his absence but it was Undav who stepped up and delivered for his side. He started three games in November and scored three goals. Undav lead the way for most attempts on goal (10) while he was also ranked second for chances created (four).

The winner should be announced in around a week’s time.
