As reported by Fabrice Hawkins, Brighton are targeting a possible move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Amine Adli.
It is understood that talks have already begun between the English club and Adli’s management. Brighton have contacted Adli’s agent, Jeremy Hazan, to question whether the 23-year-old would consider a move to the Premier League.
Adli has given the green light to make the move possible. Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is said to be an admirer of the Frenchman’s talent, however, after losing Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa earlier on in the window, Die Werkself would demand a significant fee from the Seagulls for Adli’s services.
Last season, Adli featured 38 times for Leverkusen, scoring seven goals and collecting six assists as he began to establish himself as a key player for Xabi Alonso’s side. Despite missing the opening two games of the current Bundesliga season, the 23-year-old did appear for the Werkself in the first round of the DFB-Pokal scoring once and assisting twice, as Leverkusen dismantled Teutonia Ottensen 8-0.
After recently confirming the signing of Nathan Tella from Southampton, Leverkusen will be reluctant to allow Adli to leave as they hope to build on their positive start to the season. Fighting for the Meisterschale should be the aim for Alonso’s side this season and Adli will be crucial to any success at the BayArena this campaign.
