Borussia Mönchengladbach tracking Sochaux’s Skelly Alvero

Fabrizio Romano reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are tracking Sochaux midfielder Skelly Alvero.

Gladbach are not the only team interested in the 20-year-old as Crystal Palace have also taken an interest in Alvero. The price tag is set to between €3-4m and the midfielder currently has a contract at Sochaux until 2025.

Alvero has played 24 times for Sochaux this season assisting once. Sochaux are currently fighting promotion to Ligue 1 and are one point behind second-place Bordeaux. The 20-year-old can play as a central midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder, Alvero is also over two metres tall.

Gladbach are currently looking for replacements for Manu Koné who is set to leave in the summer. Alvero would have followed a similar path to Koné who joined from Toulouse in 2021 when they too were fighting for promotion from Ligue 2.

This upcoming summer is likely to see Gladbach completely rebuild their squad as Marcus Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini are both set to leave on a free transfer in the summer while the futures of Koné, Julian Weigl and Lars Stindl are currently unknown.
