Borussia Dortmund will go into battle with Bayern Munich over the signing of Ferdi Kadıoğlu

As reported by Bild, both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are set to battle for the signing of Fenerbahçe right-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

It has been widely reported that both Dortmund and Bayern are on the lookout for added quality in the right-back department, meaning that the two will have to lock horns the whole way if they are to secure the signature of Kadıoğlu. Due to his versatility and quality, it is expected that the Turkish club will demand €30m for the 24-year-old.

For Bayern, this is a fee that would certainly be within the budget set out for the January transfer window that is soon approaching. With Bouna Sarr still the club’s only recognised alternative to Noussair Mazraoui, Kadıoğlu would undoubtedly add the necessary depth that is required.

Whereas, for Dortmund, €30m is considered to be too expensive if they are to find a permanent solution to the right side of their backline, and therefore, an initial loan could be on the cards. However, with the ability to cover at left-back as well, BvB may view Kadıoğlu as the ideal solution to their defensive woes.

It has been understood that Dortmund are looking to strengthen their full-back areas, and Kadıoğlu could partner Julian Ryerson until the end of the campaign as the club’s two full-backs until they can delve further into the market in the summer. Nevertheless, with Bayern interested, the Black and Yellows would have to be able to convince the Turkish international to turn down the chance of a move to Bavaria.
