Borussia Dortmund in advanced talks with Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer

Borussia Dortmund are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich over the signing of Marcel Sabitzer, according to Florian Plettenberg

The Austrian midfielder has long been tipped to leave Bayern this summer, having spent the second half of last season on loan in the Premier League with Manchester United. The 29-year-old reportedly would have liked to return to England, but now a move to BVB seems the most likely.

As per the report, negotiations between both clubs are advanced. Though the transfer isn’t quite a done deal, it’s certainly edging closer towards reality.

It’s believed Sabitzer could cost BVB between €12m-€18m, but they wouldn’t be able to match his current gross salary of €10m, which he has at Bayern. BVB are likely to offer the Austrian €8m per year. However, with future bonuses included in the contract, Sabitzer could see his deal rise to €10m a year, making him one of the top earners at the Westfalenstadion.
