Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko discussions continue to falter

Contract discussions between Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko (18) are continuing to falter, according to Sven Westerschulze of Sky Germany.

There were already problems in regard to the salary expectations Moukoko demanded. It was reported that the youngster wanted a yearly salary of between €5m-€6m which the club were unwilling to pay.

On top of this, the latest development suggests that both parties have also reached a sticking point in regard to the signing fee. As per the report, the forward is demanding more than €10m which is considered too much from BVB’s point of view.

With just six months remaining on his contract, Moukoko is now free to talk with other clubs and could leave for nothing in the summer which would be a massive blow for Dortmund.

Moukoko is the youngest goalscorer in Bundesliga history and is also the youngest player to play for Germany since 1954. With 12 goal contributions (6 goals, 6 assists) in 22 games across all competitions this season, he’s also BVB’s go-to player in the final third.
