Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mané is a transfer target of Saudi Arabia

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mané is a transfer target for Saudi Arabia this summer.

There is yet to be an official offer for the Senegalese international, however, Mané is certainly wanted by Saudi Arabia even if a move were to happen next year. Nevertheless, internally, Mané’s management has made it clear to the record champions that the 31-year-old wishes to stay beyond the summer.

Bayern have not shut the door on Mané just yet and his future at the club is still open. This is despite the incident with Leroy Sané, where Mané reportedly lashed out at the German winger after the Champions quarter-final first-leg defeat to Manchester City.

It has not been the dream start to life in Bavaria this season for Mané, as injuries and turmoil have plagued his time at Die Rekordmeister. However, a return of 12 goals and six assists in 38 appearances, while helping Bayern retain their Bundesliga crown is far from disastrous.

While he was lured to Germany to seemingly play as a striker in Julian Nagelsmann’s makeshift system in the absence of Robert Lewandowski, it has been clear to see that he can make more of an impact from out wide. Nevertheless, Bayern currently boast a plethora of options in wide areas and if he were to move on from his time in Munich, Mané would join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in Saudi Arabia.
