Bayern Munich likely to offload Sadio Mané this summer

As reported by Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are likely to offload Sadio Mané this summer.

Speaking during the Sky90 show, reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed what could be in store for Mané. This included how much the forward was fined by the club following an incident with Leroy Sané after a 3-0 loss at Manchester City

Plettenberg explained: “From what I’m hearing, Bayern will try everything to offload Sadio Mané in the summer. From a sporting point of view, Thomas Tuchel has no plans with Mané as he doesn’t fit his system. This is my information. The player is seen very critically internally.”

Having only just arrived at Bayern last summer, Mané could well be on his way after just one year. The forward was never going to be a straight swap for Robert Lewandowski due to different playing styles. Bayern are well-equipped in the wide area and therefore a move for Mané following the Sané incident could be for the best.

Plettenberg provides more context by saying: “Signing Mané is considered a mistake, especially with his salary of more than €20m/year. Following his disappointing performances, there’s a joke doing the rounds at Säbener Straße that Bayern signed Mané’s twin brother, not the one from Liverpool.”

A tap harsh perhaps but it’s clear that Mané isn’t suited at Bayern. In regards to the incident with Sané, Mané was suspended for the TSG Hoffenheim match last weekend (1-1) and fined well over €300k. If this is the case, it would be the highest fine a Bayern player has ever received.
