A return to the Bundesliga could be on the cards for Thilo Kehrer

According to Sport Bild, a return to the Bundesliga is a possibility for Thilo Kehrer with Eintracht Frankfurt showing an interest in the West Ham defender.

Frankfurt are working on trying to bring Kehrer in on loan as his current price would be too expensive for them in the winter. Kehrer’s contract at Frankfurt expires in 2026 and he is currently valued at €13m by transfermarkt.

The need for defensive reinforcements at the club was shown after Frankfurt’s embarrassing exit in the DFB Pokal against Saarbrücken on Wednesday.

A change would be good for Kehrer as it will allow him to play more and potentially earn a recall to the German national team ahead of Euro 2024. The 27-year-old would fit in at Frankfurt as he fits the type of player that Dino Toppmöller would like due to his versatility.

Frankfurt had previously shown interest in Kehrer in 2021 when he was at PSG but no move materialised. The defender last played in the Bundesliga in 2018 before leaving Schalke to join PSG for €37m.
