Sevilla identify Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen as potential transfer target

As reported by Di Marzio, Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen is one of the first names of Sevilla’s list to replace Kasper Dolberg as the Spanish club work on replacing the Danish striker.

On loan at Sevilla from OGC Nice, Dolberg could return to his parent club in January with a view to joining Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that negotiations between all parties are ongoing and Dolberg could also imagine a move to Germany.

That means that Sevilla need a replacement. Per Di Marzio, Malen is on Sevilla’s list to replace Dolberg, who has played just 196 minutes across four La Liga games this season.

Malen himself has struggled at Borussia Dortmund. The Dutchman missed out on Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands squad and has failed to score in 680 minutes in the Bundesliga this season. In 1,045 minutes across all competitions, the 23-year-old has scored just one goal for BVB.

Signed as a replacement for Jadon Sancho, who joined Manchester United, in 2021, Malen has scored 10 and created nine in 55 games across all competitions.
