Sébastien Haller is fighting a malignant testicular tumour

Borussia Dortmund have revealed that Sébastien Haller is fighting a malignant testicular tumour and will undergo chemotherapy.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl explained: “Sebastien will now receive the best possible treatment. The chances of recovery are very good. We wish him and his family a lot of strength and optimism and our thoughts are with him during this difficult time.”

The statement was followed up by explaining that the club will not be releasing any medical details regarding the treatment of the forward in the coming months.

Earlier in the week, Kehl said: “Fortunately, today I can say that the operation went well and that he is on a very good path.”

Previous to any announcements, Haller tweeted a photo of himself in hospital explaining that step one was complete and thanked those who had sent him kind messages.

Everyone at Get German Football News would like to wish Sébastien Haller a full and speedy recovery.
