Sébastien Haller agrees personal terms with Borussia Dortmund

Sport1 report this afternoon that Ajax forward Sébastien Haller has agreed a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2027.

BVB want to pay €33 million plus bonuses for the Ivorian, who wants to return to the Bundesliga. Ajax want a figure closer to €38m with negotiations ongoing as the Bundesliga side look to sign an Erling Haaland replacement.

Sport1’s Patrick Berger confirms the report from Mike Verweij that Borussia Dortmund are close to signing the 27-year-old, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt between 2017 and 2019, scoring 33 and creating 19 in 77 games in all competitions for Die Adler.

The news comes just hours after Bayer Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario (29) was the latest name to be linked with the club as a stop-gap replacement for Haaland, who last week made his move to Manchester City official.

It had originally thought that Borussia Dortmund wouldn’t be able to afford a transfer package for Haller and that they had preferred younger options with a chance of selling for a profit, but agreeing personal terms with Haller signals BVB’s intent.
