Sebastian Kehl on Erling Haaland: “There is no ultimatum.”

Speaking on Sport1 Doppelpass, Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastian Kehl discussed the comments made by Erling Haaland on Friday that suggested the Bundesliga club are putting pressure on him regarding his future.

“There is no ultimatum, there is no deadline. We’re not putting him under pressure to make a decision in the next few weeks,” said Kehl. “In the next few days I’ll talk to him about what’s on his mind right and why he communicated this subject in this way after the game because that’s now the way I viewed it.”

On Friday, CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke stated that BVB can’t wait until May to make a decision, Kehl adding: “How can I go forward with squad planning if we have no sense of whether the player wants to stay at Dortmund or not? Erling has to understand that at a certain point that we must lead a discussion.”
