2. Bundesliga side Schalke 04 have this afternoon confirmed that they will remove Gazprom from their shirts following recent developments.
66-year-old board member Matthias Warnig has also stepped down from his position with immediate effect. Warnig had been a part of the board as a representative of main sponsor Gazprom since July 2019.
