Bayer Leverkusen Managing Director Rudi Völler has heaped praise on 26-year-old striker Patrik Schick after the Czech Republic international scored a brace against Hoffenheim, helping Die Werkself to secure third and a Champions League place.
“He’s a classic centre-forward,” Völler told Kicker. “I’m particularly happy with Patrik because I fought for him for a long time in previous years. He was always my dream striker. I was always in contact with AS Roma, even before Patrik came to us via RB Leipzig, because I knew he’s a wonderful striker.”
Schick has scored 24 Bundesliga goals in 26 games this season for Bayer Leverkusen.
