Robin Gosens: “World Cup participation is in danger for me.”

Robin Gosens travels with Inter Milan to Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening and back to the arena that changed his career.

“I scored a goal here at the European Championship against Portugal,” said the 28-year-old, looking forward to his return to Munich: “It changed my career.” During last summer’s European Championship, Gosens started all four group-stage matches including a memorable night in Munich against Portugal.

That summer, the German international moved to Inter in the hope to boost his career. However, it hasn’t been plain sailing for the former Atalanta player. This is partially down to a lack of playing time and injury. This also made Gosens lose his national team place to David Raum who moved to RB Leipzig following an impressive campaign with Hoffenheim.

Gosens has been open in recent weeks to a move back to Germany in the January window but it can’t come before the World Cup.

All I can do now is train well and play well. I hope the coach sees that,” proclaimed Gosens.
