Return to Marseille not off the table for Amine Harit

Amine Harit could yet join Marseille on a permanent basis, according to Kicker. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at the French club and is free to leave Schalke this summer.

S04 are actively looking to sell Harit, and had earlier given the Morocco international an extended leave of absence to negotiate his departure from the newly-promoted Bundesliga club. The Royal Blues want a fee around €10m, and would rather sell than loan the attacking-midfielder out again.

Galatasaray are competing with Marseille for the signing of Harit and have already submitted an opening offer of a reported €5m, significantly less than Schalke’s asking price. Harit has two-years remaining on his current deal and given he’s one of S04’s higher earners, they want him off their salary bill.

Since joining Schalke from Nantes in 2017 for €8m, Harit has played 118 games in all competitions, scoring 13 and creating 23. A sale would also allow head coach Frank Kramer and sporting director Rouven Schröder to further strengthen their squad.
