RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer wants clarity on future

According to Kicker, RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer wants clarity on his future with interest arising from fellow Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.

Laimer (25) is entering the final year of his contract at Leipzig and it’s unclear as to whether or not the Austria international will remain at the club. Bayern Munich have shown concrete interest in the midfielder but despite this, have made no effort to submit an opening offer for Laimer. They value the midfielder at €20m and know that Leipzig are under pressure to sell, or run the risk of losing Laimer on a free transfer in 2023 when his contract expires.

Laimer also has a preference to join Bayern Munich where he would link up with former coach Julian Nagelsmann. Laimer played 46 games under Nagelsmann during his time at Leipzig, scoring four and creating seven.

Speaking to media last week, RB Leipzig head coach Domenico Tedesco reiterated that Laimer is a Leipzig player and that he plans on going into the 2022/23 Bundesliga season with the Austrian midfielder.
