Predicted Borussia Dortmund lineup vs FC Copenhagen

It’s a dead rubber on Wednesday night when Borrusia Dortmund play FC Copenhagen in the Danish capital. The Danes are guaranteed to finish bottom of the group while BVB have already secured their place in the knockout stages. Having already beaten Copenhagen 3-0 in Germany earlier in the competition, you’d expect a similar outcome as the group stages come to an end. In fact, Dortmund have never lost to a Danish side in a competitive European competition. What’s more, Copenhagen are yet to score a goal in this year’s Champions League. They’ll be hoping to avoid becoming the fourth team to ever do so since Deportivo La Coruña in 2004-05, Maccabi Haifa in 2009-10, and Dinamo Zagreb in 2016-17.

Team News

In terms of players missing for Dortmund, you have the usual suspects Marco Rues, Thomas Meunier, Raphaël Guerreiro, and Sébastien Haller. Mahmoud Dahoud is also a doubt for the game due to an ongoing shoulder problem. This could make way for either Salih Özcan or Emre Can to start alongside Jude Bellingham in midfield. The likes of Anthony Modeste, Marius Wolf, and Giovanni Reyna could also feature on Wednesday having started on the bench against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.

Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI:

Meyer – Süle, Hummels, Schlotterbeck, Hazard – Özcan, Bellingham – Wolf, Brandt, Reyna – Modeste.
