Official | Union Berlin sign Greuther Fürth talent Jamie Leweling

Union Berlin have announced the signing of 21-year-old forward Jamie Leweling from Greuther Fürth for a reported €4m on a four-year contract until 2026.

With Fürth going down this season, it was unlikely they were going to be able to hold on to the German U21 international.

A number of clubs were interested in the forward including Eintracht Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hoffenheim, Mainz and Wolfsburg. However, it was Union who were able to get Leweling’s signature on paper.

Regarding his move, Leweling explained: “The talks with Oliver Ruhnert and Urs Fischer really convinced me. In addition, it has been very easy to see in recent years that Union is a club where players can develop and get better. For me as a young player this is a very important point.”
