Newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham have today announced the signing of Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg for a reported €6m..
The Swiss international defender has signed a contract with Fulham until 2025. With his contract at Wolfsburg expiring next summer, a move for Mbabu was always likely.
A move to London and the Premier League is an exciting opportunity for the player to test his abilities in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. It’s Mbabu’s second stint in England having already played for Newcastle United between 2013 and 2016
Since his move from BSC Young Boys in 2019, Mbabu has played 66 Bundesliga games for Wolfsburg across three years. Given the signing of Kilian Fischer and Ridle Baku at the club, it’s apparent that the Swiss right-back isn’t in Niko Kovač’s plans for the 2022/23 season.
Kovač starts his tenure at Wolfsburg with a DFB Pokal game against Carl Zeiss Jena this weekend.
